Anyone used the latest version of this software?

If you dont know what it is, it monitors data downloaded, how much between what times and also monitors upload speed and download speed in realtime, easy way to see if youve been STM'd or not!

I like to use it, gives me a good idea of all my downloads that are going on and how much bandwidth in total im downloading on this machine.

Heres a link, please note this is shareware and you can only trial unless bought.

Id recommend it anyway. Anyone use it then? and what do you think, usefull?

Yes I have used DU meter and it worked great for me. The best part is that it can count the usage even if you are just opening up the website. Now I am using Linux (gutsy gibbon). and it has inbuilt feature of calculating the network traffic.:)

For people with an snmp enabled router there is also http://www.mrtg.com/ which I haven't tried (I installed it but it appeared to be a PITA to set up - windows users may have it easier)
It does graphs and stuff of throughput on your router.

MRTG is awesome (and free!) - you can get some pretty in-depth stats (and pretty diagrams) from it...but you do need an SNMP router/device.

BWMeter(http://www.desksoft.com/BWMeter.htm) is pretty good too, and if you have multiple systems you have have it set up to pull stats from the others so that you can monitor usage form one PC rather than having to RD into each :) Also, you can have pretty graphs if you are willing to put in some effort to export an process the statistical data :)

DUMeter is the dogs proverbials.
I too have been using it for years and find it invaluable.

The current version, 4.0, is great with lots more bells and whistles for those who want to delve deeper but still dead easy for those who don't.

I reckon that over the last few years I've recommended DUMeter to more people than any other chunk of software including Firefox, NOD32 and Sygate.
If you're not already using it, give it a go!

For linux, I am using the following console based programs, I think vnStat http://humdi.net/vnstat/ is good as it gives nice simple reports. I also use another console based program, IFStatus http://ifstatus.sourceforge.net/graphic/index.html for a dynamic view of internet activity.

Thanks for reminding me, this is the one app i always wish i'd had installed, but never get round to installing. Thanks to you, i have installed it again. Although in 4.0 the totals and reports feature does not seem to work :(

I've been using BitMeter for a few months. Free download from http://codebox.no-ip.net/controller?page=bitmeter2 (http://codebox.no-ip.net/controller?page=bitmeter2) seems to work well and I'm amazed at my usage when just surfing!!!!

I have been using DU meter for a while now, it was not till recently i noticed it was giving me false information, the reason for this was it was counting the traffic on about 6 different network connections, but now i have told it to only monitor the wireless connection (as i very rarely use the ethernet one) it seems to be working more stable than before, i have also setup the alerts to tell me when im nearing the STM limit.
