am on 4 meg connection, i am not traffic managed as i have not downloaded anything for atleast 3 days, not even played online gaming today so no chance of hitting any limits

The power levels look fine, watch the downstream power doesnt go too much higher than though though. Maybe its congestion issues?

i tried the speedtest.net test i get 4 meg to the maidenhead server but everything else clocks in at half a meg :S

i never have a problem with congestion in my area, not enough to notice, i use TeamSpeak every night and tonight its just choppy choppy i cant even get more than a two word sentence out of my friends before its slashing their words in half :S

192,168.100.1
username & password root
, log into your modem & check the config page, that'll tell you if you have been traffic managed

nope and has been confirmed as no traffic management on my line by the techs just got through to em, they did a hard reset of the modem so i will monitor this over the next few days and see what happens

strange tho it happened at 9pm both nights... perfectly fine up till this point :(

I'm in LE4 and for a couple of weeks now my d/l speeds have awful (should be 4 meg service) I also have a ping of 283 when it used to be 15 5 weeks ago.

I am not even bothering to waste my time phoning!

Any-one else with the same problems in the area ?

BTW Virgin have just sent me a new modem as they will upgrade to 10 Meg :o:

Perhaps the new modem will help as the Terayon is 7 years old now and I have to keep restarting it.

Sorry I should add this is cable not ADSL

LE2 4mb here and I would give you my speed test results, however I got bored waiting for it to complete so gave up after 5 minutes of trying to refresh and obtain a result.

Just can't wait for the 10mb upgrade , they couldn't deliver it when I paid for it so I went down to 4mb, will be very surprised therefore if they can provide it for free now.

TBH I think the LE2 and LE3 areas are always going to be screwed because it is mainly densely populated terraced housing and the contention ratio must be just too much for the VM network to handle without a major overhaul, a lot of the network infrastructure is from the Diamond Cable days all those years ago and just doesn't seem up to scratch.
