This has just been posted on the uk.telecom.broadband newsgroup. Anyone have any further info?

I've now moved away from Virgin now they are destroying my NTL email address
I've had for the last 7 years. That was the only thing keeping me there.
Now it is being discontinued in a few weeks time.

The only reason it would be discontinued would be if he no longer subscribes to a virgin media internet service.
The email adresses are only available while the customer continues a subscription. Once you disconnect you lose the email.

It may have been the case, that they have agreed to change it to a dial up account as they are no longer being kept open, but he shouldnt have had it this long in the first place

The old Freedom (Offnet) Service is being discountinued and people being offered migration onto virgin.net. When this happens their accounts are shut down and the email address goes
