Hi how long do you guys (n gals) think that Virgin can run with the two different pricing structures..

OLD
4M/10M cable for £25pm + Optional Phone for £2pm (sometimes more £9??)

NEW

4M/10M cable for 11.50/16pm + Mandatory Phone for £11pm

I just have the broadband but currently on the £25pm plan.

I think the latter, mandatory phone package, is a VM strategy to help block ADSL takeup? Which is fair enough them being a business'n'all.

Do you think they at some point bring the old contracts into line with new prices (not necessarily right away but after a year or so). Otherwise some customers paying £25pm and others paying £16pm looks a bit odd after a while doesn't it?

The pricing is EXACTLY the same (after the initial new customer element is gone).

The list price of BB L is £25 - this is ALWAYS stated on your bill.

The current deal reverts to the 2 for £20 with the base BB M upgraded to L

2 for £20 is Phone M and BB M
Upgrade BB M to L is £25 - £18 = £7
Total £27

The confusion arises because the current marketing campaign takes this £27 and removes the list Phone M price of £11 to get a BB L price of £16.

Nothing has actually changed!

PS I pay £36 for BB L and TV XL. If I take the £20.50 for TV XL off this total price, I could say that I get BB L for £15.50 a month. It's all about perspective.
