Is HDCP required to use the HDMI output or is that only needed for Movies?

My TV is rather rubbish was wandering if i I could just get a HDMI to Dvi adaptor and plug it into my PC monitor or if it needed the monitor to support HDCP

AFAIK, it's only required for BD movies etc.

Can't see any reason why games would require it.

Although I could be wrong...DRM does tend to be evil & annoying, so you never know.

Still, why not use it as an excuse for a nice new TV? ;)

Because I just spent almost £300 on the ps3 and a game and with christmas coming up I don't want to make my credit card bill any higher ;)

Edit: But yes i'd love a new HDTV for the bedroom.
