Hi,

I have recently moved into a new flat, which has got no landline or anything it, so I phoned up BT said, could I get a line, they said yes, only £124.99 - said no thanks.

I phoned up Virgin who said sorry no cable in your area? I thought strange as thought I had seen little boxes and such that looked like cable in street.

I decided to try and join online, I typed in postcode, house and flat number and it accpeted me, got tv, phone and broadband.

They are just doing credit check and will contact me in 24 hours to confirm order and ensure installation date is ok.

Would the internet allow me sign up and then kick me out when they come to confirm the order? I have tried to sign up to Virgin in my old flat but i couldnt as it wasnt a cable area

Thanks for any help in advance,

David

Yes the internet booking system isnt linked to the billing system - quite possible you will get an email advising prop not serviceable

was thinking that, although why would it allow me to sign up, postcode, flat number and position - if they didnt service the area? I tried my old postcode, and just said sorry, only broadband through the BT phone line, wonder why it didnt say that when I put my new postcode, flat number and position in

Thanks for the reply

Dont get me wrong it could have been the Sales guy/gal you spoke to that was wrong..

With so many props though sometimes the databases dont match exactly - More likely in flats as you can probably appreciate.

Thanks WHISTLED,

I got an email from them today saying that they need to look into my address in more detail and will contact me in 10 days.

Could this mean that the people I have ohoned have said no, but this 'specialist' department may say yes?

Means system still says not serviceable but they have past to a 'spotter' who is supposed to go and have a look - they usually contact you themselves IF servicaeble and claim it as a sale.
