Just had a horrible thought.....

When VM upgraded everyone from 10 to 20Mb, did that mean a new 12 month contract?

IIR ours was automatic, we were sent a letter stating our speeds were increasing to 20Mb and we would be charged £3 more. I remember thinking what a liberty as we were given no choice in the matter.

Well surely they cant do that, as to have a VALID contract, doesn't there have to be 2 signatures on it, so in this case, a sig from VM and surely they would need a sig from the customer for it to be a legally binding contract?

It was £2 not £3.
VM may be stupid but they are not stupid enough to force a new 12 month contract on to people in that way. they're quite happy to do it another way, just not that way :)

Nah, a contract consists of an offer and acceptance, VM offer and if we pay its acceptance, it dont have to be written anymore.

I just cant remember if we had to take a new contract with the 20Mb.

Anyone?

A contract with VM is made just from you using the service. whether it's legal I don't know.

The way it actually happened was that the £2 rise was a rise on the 10Mb connection. the upgrade from 10Mb to 20Mb was free. it was just a coincidence that they both happened at the same time :)
