Got a phone call from VM asking me if I wanted v+ for nothing...
Well ok why not I retorted.

You will have a SACM instead of your STB he said. you may even get a better speed.
No problem I said.

Installer came and well installed it...
I'll test my broadband before you go I said booting up my PC.
Up pops google....result
Thats wierd the installer said, I have not registered your modem yet...

So He calls VM and gets the modem registered and leaves.

I try a speed test.....

0.98

WTF????????????????

I had only done a speed test a few days before and I was pulling just short of 4mb..

Why has this happened?

I want my STB back I think.

I was quite contented with my TV and BB but the lure of V+ overpowered my brain.

Any help people could offer would be well received...

He said I was on the 2mb service and yet I could not even pull 1mb.

I asked him to credit the cost of my call back to my account as I was not at fault.
He said this was not allowed but would do this anyway.

Result my virgin brethren... result...

HI Newbie in the House,
I am also slighlty confudulated by The speed issues, I was on a 4meg connection decided what the hay lets go OTT and was "kindly"! upgraded from 4meg to 20meg on Aug25th, I have never ever got past my original 4meg speed BUT "tech support" advis I was getting the national avg for a 20meg connection um 4.12 thats a cr*p national average. had two NEW? modems & the second "engineer" advised all he could do was setup the modem the "tech" support would do the rest..I called again to be advised My Spyware is causing MAJOR latency issues ?????? um how? I had another engineer out & he said until the issue with my 20 meg is fixedHAHAHA I should downgrade - done NOW I cannot even get my original 4meg & only get 1.74 at a push - VM advised me after I complaine to call Tech support to get another "engineer" out - why to replace the modem again, thewy dont have a clue & couldent manage a revolving door - WHY must I contact etch support if they have a letter in writing to which they replied - Clueless FOOLS
Sorry for the rant.
Keep smiling
Ed
