Missing TV channels after Virgin Media installation

Installer fitted digital cable box (Samsung) and told me that it would take one hour to get all the channels (XL package) loaded on the box (on the card?). After one hour I still had usual free channels (BBC1 etc) plus an apparently random selection of others like Bravo. But the majority of channels were "greyed out" in the Guide.
Called VM and was told I should wait FOUR hours not one. Did this. No effect.
Called VM and was told I should wait TWENTY FOUR hours not four. Did this. No effect.
And yes, I have powered it off and on as recommended.
Any ideas? Clearly, VM call centre don't have any to date.

Can take up to 24 hours but if it doesn't sort itself out call back and ask them to send a packet hit to the box to sort it out.

On the tech stuff page it will say card status not paired or ok . If you have no channels it will have not paired .The tech should of waited for the hit to come through as there has been no delays in the last week .Call them you do not need a tech if it says not paired :)
