Why would virgin have a different MAC code on my account.
It differs to the one on my modem ?

I recently upgraded, spoke to CS, Spoke to Technical support, went back to CS, i was asked for my MAC Address, then advisor told me it was a different address on my account and they had upgraded that modem, Credit of £10.00 for Inconvenience, and because i was being charged incorrectly. Told would upgrade within 30 minutes.

None. It's supposed to be different.

The MAC address they are referring to should be on a sticky label on the modem somewhere. If it's an NTL branded cable modem, it will be on the bottom.

The MAC address on your PC is the MAC address of it's network card (NIC MAC). The MAC address of the cable modem is different (CM MAC or HFC MAC depending who you ask ;))
