speed test at 4.22pm was getting 16mb

speed test at 4.38pm getting less than 2mb and loads of packet loss

cant they just not throw the switch that does this everyday at 4.30pm?

and packet loss seems to stem from brhm-t3core-1a-ge-013-0.inet.ntl.com

anyone else having packet loss troubles through this UBR?

If your upload speed remains the same before and after then you are not capped, then it is just the way VM works, slow down everybody no matter what.

No downloading done and yes upload still 768.

traffic management i can just about accept , until they get their act together but packet loss i cant.

Unfortunately when they send an engineer around everything is OK . I hate paying £37/month for this but alternative are probably just as bad. Just praying and hoping it gets sorted soon.

Has anyone had a price reduction because poor service? If so how you go about it. T ech support has all my records so the evidence of a poor service is there for who ever to see.

Hi, That is not a UBR that is a Core Backbone Router. In my view it is the routing, transit & peering that is shot to bits more than the Broadband Capacity.
Try some traceroutes and see how many hops and time per hop.. .It is shocking:mad:

you know I called VM today complaining about the same ****, they have reflashed the firmware to the modem and assured me this will have cured the issue....tests tomorrow will confirm whether true or not.

I will say using the forum speed test i averaged 12mb max, now im actually seeing 20 and 21mb reported in the test with averages around 16 to 18 which is a vast improvement.

I basically complained to customer services and asked they reduce my BB cost for 11 days out of 30 for each month to that the 2MB service as from 4PM every week day and all day at week ends the service they are providing to me sucked....this kinda got their attention and the customer service guy assured me they do have a fix and i would need to call the BB help number but my call cost would be reimbursed to me.

I will see how it goes tomorrow, usually from 4pm skype is unusable and vids off youtube buffer like crazy so i should have easy tests to see if its better or not.
