The clue is in the avatar - Converse 'All Stars' baseball boots - mmm canvas, just the thing for winter footwear ;)
Last time I had a pair of baseball boots was in the 1970's - and that was because they were cheap, not 'fashionable' ;)

Look young man why ask us?Some of us are 6 or five times your age.Why don't you ask people of your own age who won't go all grown up on you because they will INSTANTLY know what you mean without any explanation being required...

Chuck Taylor All-Stars are canvas and rubber shoes produced by Converse. They were first produced in 1917 as the "All-Star", Converse's attempt to capture the basketball shoe market.They were not particularly popular until basketball player Chuck Taylor adopted them as his preferred shoe. ..I only ever knew them as sneakers so IF he had asked about sneakers I might have 'got' it.
Only the younger generations talk in logos and brand names.Us oldies deal in more generic terms. :p:
Anyway depends what you wear the things for.They would be crap for sport and wouldn't last 5 minutes as ordinary footwear but then I guess as a fashion item that makes them ideal.
You learn something new everyday, I thought sneakers was an American term for them in general. I would have thought the generic term would be something like plimsoles or something in your day.

Actually, they're very good quality. Expect at least a year when wearing them daily.

true - but us old people are just trying to join in, I'm sure wearing the 'wrong' shoe won't stop me scoring a basket or a home run ; :D
Seriously hate the design, and feel of them when on... Makes me wish my feet were A) Either smaller or B) The right shape...
Sad thing is, they are both those things... So, the shoes make my feet look rather odd!
Plus the fashion accessory thing about them makes them rather hated in my eyes.

You think you've got problems? Well, apart from the obvious ones...
I've got size 13 feet so, when I'm wearing the black pair, it looks like my feet arrived about quarter of an hour before the rest of me :disturbd:

Yeah I know how you feel, my feet are boxes, size 10H (which are near on impossible to get) so I end up wearing 11s or 12s :erm:

it was a shop at the Riby Square end of Freemo, that sold stuff like loon pants, grandad shirts & baseball boots - full outfit for less than £4.00 if you went commando :)

i cant wear flip flops either but strangely enough I only noticed for the first two minutes afterwards its like wearing a pair of slippers, great for biking or kicking round the house in
