Hey all,
Title says it all really, just thought I’d say I’ve been pleasantly surprised with my speeds recently here in Glasgow.
I had suspected I was cloned; however after the measures VM took recently my speed has been great, sitting about the 11mb mark during peak hours and off peek hitting the 18/19mb. (on XL)
Long may it continue :)
Same here, Glasgow seems to have improved a lot recently!
Only on 2mb here, South side. but I’m not finding it any better. Speed wise I think its fine but is it reliable- No! over the last few weeks its been a case of working then not, which is unacceptable.
I’d be scared to go any higher like 4mb or 20mb as its bad enough getting 2mb to work…..in saying that a few weeks ago I was leaving for sky or BT as it annoyed me over the top one night. I don’t download a lot but I just want it to be there for me when I need it.
Still not impressed sorry………….and I know a fair few in the same boat with virgin.
Unlike ADSL, speed does not affect the stability of the connection. If your connection is unstable, it is most likely an issue with power levels or SNR, something which faults should be able to help you with. I've had VM broadband since the day it launched back in 1999, and can assure you it's generally a very solid and reliable technology... Unfortunately the backhaul lets it down!
