Hi,

Looking at the Virgin Service Status page at the moment it seems most people around the country are having issues.

However there is nothing listed for Cardiff.
I am getting an ip address but internet browsing is dire with mostly no access
to pages further than google and some other random pages.

My pings are getting losses and a tracerout to my IP address gets no responses after about 10 hops.

I was just wondering if anyone else was getting the same issues in or around Cardiff.

Also Im still using the very old NTL Terayon modem which has given me no problems since Ive had it.

I am only aware of one other person right now with the same problem as me who curiously has the same modem.

That modem is very iffy on todays network. It may not be the cause of your problems but it wouldn't hurt to get it changed anyway.

I'm in Newport. No problems at all with my BB, on 4 meg with a Terayon. I get routed through Cardiff.

** UPDATE **

Virgin Media Engineer arrived today and tested the connection and it turns out that my trusty old Terayon modem was the culprit.

New modem supplied and Internet better than it has been in years.

The engineer was a top bloke too.
