Hi

Could someone just confirm these sign levels are near or spot on ? (From my understanding they are)

ExNTL - Manchester - (Langley I believe ?)

Acquire a Downstream Channel 586750000 Hz Locked
Connectivity State OK Operational
Boot State OK Operational

Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 2
Downstream Frequency : 586750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17
Downstream Receive Power Level : 0.2 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 35.1 dB

Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 2
Upstream Frequency : 28784000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QPSK
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 47.0 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2

Thanks in advance.

They're spot on. Couldn't get much better actually :)

Oh I really dont get VM then ! lol

There sending out a tech tomorrow saying my power levels are too high!!

Reason I query because my speeds as so poor at anytime of the day.

Nope, they're spot on. Downstream is near 0, and should be as near to 0 as possible but has a range of -8 to +8.

Upstream is fine, it should be lower than 55 I believe.

SNR is fine too, 33 odd is about right.

right about downstream

upstream virgin say high 50`s are bad
truth is the lower the better.

Downstream Receive Power Level : 9.9 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 40.1 dB

*Cough cough*

Exactly what kind of effect does going outside those values have?

It can cause an unstable and/or slow connection. If its working no problems, i'd leave it alone :)

like hesaid can cause unstableconection but depends on model of modem its suprising howwell the can conect on acrap signal

I don't think I'd know how to mess with signal levels anyway!

The connection has been unstable, but recently it hasn't been so bad.

*Touch wood*.

Thanks for the info.

you cant mess with the signal much unless vm let you have a key too thebox up the road

you can check conectionsare tight on cant line and remove any spliter you may have on cat line

Jus scares me there coming out tomorrow - what damage is the tech going to do !

on in an hour!

bromleys your platform in manchester m8.got to say everything seems fine with the modems spec,ur probably just on an oversubscribed UBR,ask the tech (after hes checked ur signal levels) to check if ur ubr is down for a re-seg in the near future ;)

Stranfes part of it - even this evening pings are great - 18ms to bbc.co.uk -Just really poor throughput at random and never about 10meg downloads even from muitiple sites.
