Hey,
Yesterday while I was playing WoW I noticed that I started getting a lot of lag. So I investigated what the problem was. It seems that my internet keeps disconnecting then reconnecting every 10-20 seconds. Although MSN and Xfire seem to stay connected WoW will just disconnect totally after about 1 minute of this happening. I am using Virgin Media by the way.
I read another thread stating that your downstream/upstream frequencies should be a certain number. Mine are:
Downstream: 331000000 Hz
Upstream: 18800000 Hz
I'm not totally sure that my upstream is the right one, I can't really remember as I can't find the thread again. I haven't called customer support yet. I've tried powering my PC/Router/Modem down then connecting it all again and tried using the reset button on the back of the modem but the problem still persists. I've never had this problem before until yesterday.
I live in the UK.
Using Windows XP Professional.
My Modem is a Scientific Atlanta EPC2100 and my Router is a Linksys WRT54GS.
I have 2 computers setup on my home network and they both have the same problem.
I'm running ZoneAlarm Free Edition, I have tried disabling it but the problem still occurs.
