i have scratched the door handle of my car against a pole...is there anyway i can remove the scratches cheaply?

Depends upon what the handle is made of and if it has a paint or chrome finish. Can you be a little more specific?

If the scratches are not too deep, I.e. right down to the primer I have (myself) used a black indelible marker pen to touch up scratches. The beauty of this is that you can (with a steady hand and a fine tip) actually touch up each scratch individually. Not the most professional job in the world (I'll grant you) but it's definitely cheap and (in some cases) quite effective. :D

When you are satisfied that it looks better than it did. Apply some clear lacquer to finish the job off.

If the scratches aren't too deep then some T-Cut can have impressive results. Just put some on a cloth, rub it in and polish it off - you can often get rid of minor scratches completely like this.
