Hiya guys,

Aint posted in an eternity!

The end of the years coming, I feel knackered... my last sunny holiday was in January this year (Tenerife)... I went

Newquay for my 'summer' holiday (2 weeks in the rain :() so i'm thinking ahead slightly.

I'm planning on going away early january again with the girlfriend.. criteria as follows;

-> Must be hot (ideally 30deg)
-> Not the canaries
-> Sea & Sand
-> 5* Hotel
-> Reasonable amount of places to see, bars... clubs would be a bonus, although I know January isn't the time for this (will be hitting Ibiza or the likes in the summer anyway)
-> Ideally not over populated with OAP's! The place we stayed in Tenerife in jan this year (Noelia Sur) was an eye opener ;)
-> Looking at around £12-1300 for both of our hotels and flights not including spending money
-> Not too far as to be looking at jet lag ;-)

Any ideas welcome!

Ste

lol, mine was 1999 when I got married (and that was trying to get away from her (joking)) but I'm off to Malaga on Friday - well looking forward to it! :)

Bermuda seems a bit out of price range - looking at 1k each from what I can see after having a quick scan - also a fair distance with most companies not offering direct flights :o

Will check out Jamacia... any other ideas ?

I'd go for Capetown... but once again, that's not going to be cheap.

What about Goa?

Antigua is amazing.

How about Cyprus (although won't be too hot), Egypt or Dubai.

shame you dont want to do a jetlag flight....otherwise Melbourne or Sydney would be cool and you can get cheapish deals on that.

After speaking with the girlfriend... we may consider a longish haul flight and extend the break to 10 days to make it more worthwhile?

Antigua is somewhere i'm looking at - looks awesome. Egypt doesn't really appeal. As for Australia... it seems to 'city' for me to consider for what i'm looking for :s am I wrong?

Thomson are doing a week all-inclusive in Jamaica, flying from Manchester on 10/1 for £1178 for both of you

Errm. He's looking for 2 weeks vacation. Flying to Oz takes 24 hours and you will want to get off in BKK/HK/KL for a day to have a fag break. That's half his vacation gone on travel alone :erm:

I highly recommend Bluewaters in Antigua. We had our wedding there with 18 friends and relatives and its probably the best hotel we have stayed at.

Superb place and they are fairly small, so they look after you really well.

Yep, I would recommend Antigua as well - I took my wife there for her birthday last November for a week, and we loved it.

How wet is Antugua from now until end of November? - do you need vaccinations?
