I've accidentally created a cat bed :D There's a pile of three sofa cushions by the house gate, waiting (a long time now) to be collected by the bin men. On a evening, there's sometimes a cat that comes and settles down on them. Doesn't sleep though - just gets comfy and watches the street. Lovely big eyes - really round - and pointed ears. Very timid though. Shot under a van last time I found it - when I was coming home. I was on the floor talking to it - under the van - but it was having none of it. It usually frightens me half to death. This morning, a black and white stray has taken up residence on the cushions - they catch the morning sun, so must be warm. He or she is currently giving each leg a good licking and nibbling (will be fleas).

Just thought I'd share because about half the forum likes cats :) No camera otherwise I'd try to take some pics.

So that's one cat lover and one, um, not :D

The area is full of cats, both domestic and stray. The street around the corner from me, where my mate lives, usually has them laid out in the road on a morning, catching the sun - it's a dead end street, so traffic is minimal.

Excellent - shooting gallery (and not in the normal Leeds way.......).

Only joking, I like cats.

One of my favourite uses is to make refuse sacks out of them. Let's see if the other cats dare to scratch those open :)

Might not be, Ours nibble too but they get expensive vet supplied flea treatments. I think they are puling out hair knots and bits of twig etc stuck in their fur.

I also own this extremely useful publication... the most inventive application is the toilet roll holder imho ;)

True, though this particular cat was a bit rough looking - it's white bits were mucky. In need of a good bath :)
