My internet has been cutting out non stop all night...and i was clueless to why...but when i do get my router to connect then i check the logs and it is full of "Unrecognized attempt blocked"
Everytime i refresh the log there is about 4 or 5 more!!
It is alot of different IPs trying to access mine...can any 1 offer any advise?? Like renewing my ip address how do i do it??

thank goodness the router seems to be doing a good job, I agree with Sirius that the addy you have picked up via DHCP was previously used by P2P software.
Changing that IP may be possible with a new network card????
Wouldn't changing connection from usb to ethernet or vise versa give a new I.P. ... IIRC it should, that will at least give a temp solution, are you running any firewalls ?

Bit of an extreme solution...
As you're using a router you should beable to just clone the MAC of your network card on the router, that'll give you a new IP. But really, it's nothing to worry about, if you get paranoid everytime you get a few blocked connections you're going to be changing IP one hell of alot.
There's next to no chance that 4 to 5 connections every time you refresh can take down your internet unless you're refreshing it every 1/1000th of a second.

does this mean we have static ips?
thought u could just reboot modem to get a fresh ip, but i just tryed it and i still have the same ip
No you will get the same IP unless either you change your MAC address, release the IP and not go back for a new one for a long time or change from USB to ethernet/ ethernet to USB or change your ethernet card.
