my mum pays for the ntl email at home but i jst moved to iniversity and i can receive my emails usuing outlook express however i cannot actually send using outlook express :S is it not possible to do so because i am not ussing an ntl internet connection ? help MUCH appreciated

I assume you mean accessing your ntl.com email account, if so just do it via the web site, (http://www.virginmedia.com/) that way you can receive and send emails using your account from any computer.

hey, ty, nope i mean thru outlook express. i installed it on my laptop and used when i was at home (with the ntl broadband connection) now i have my laptop at uni (connection is the uni wireless one) :S:S:S, but u say i can access my email a ntl.com ?

Yeah you can access it via the web site, all you need is your user name and password, just click the email icon and jobs a gun un.

As far as I am aware you can't access your ntl emails through outlook express on a non ntl connection, but I am prepared to be corrected. :erm:

if you are trying to send email, then you need to set up your account details with your username and password (I'm talking about outlook, don't know if this applies to express or not) - bascially there is a tick box that says your outgoing mail requires authentication, and when you tick it, you can put in your username and password (same as you did for recieving mail) - this is because you're sending from an non ntl network so you need to authenticate to their smtp servers
