That is a 20MB connection! You wont be getting 12MB if you do actually have a 10MB connection!

Frequency 330750000 Hz Locked

Your modem is off frequency which will cause intermittent connection.
Should be changed to 331000000
You can do this via the configuration page of your modem
192.168.100.1
Click on Configuration tab
Change to 331000000
Click on Save Changes
Click Restart Cable Modem
Should lock it onto the correct frequency.
Won't change your speed.

Umm no. Different networks use different frequencies, and he isn't experiencing any problems so why would he want to change it?

All the ex-telewest networks are 331000000 or 339000000
the 750000 will and often does cause intermittent connection
If it won't change or reverts back to the 330750000 tech gets
booked to swap out the modem

You're obviously well informed on the subject. Are you able to tell me why I can't use 331000000 or 330750000? Whenever I change to either of them and then reboot the modem, it hangs for a bit and then reboots again and goes back to 339000000.

Here is the log, remember, it is from bottom to top order:

Ex-Telewest network always have run speed uplift trials in that area.. Don't worry I have no other way of knowing:)

There is a likelihood that different STM setup is also being used here from people I have spoken to.

I rang up about my services and was put on the 4mb broadband, which I was told would be upgraded to 10mb in October for free.

I have heard they are trialling the 10mb for some people, but the chap in retentions said everyone would be upgraded.

It may well be that sometime down the line they upgrade all 4Mb to 10Mb.. But October seems a bit close to me with the trials just happening now.. Christmas maybe:D

Take what retentions tell you with a pinch of salt... Most of them form opinions etc based on rumours either internally or externally. I seriously doubt they will upgrade all 4MB users to 10MB in October. Possibly before end of year sure, but like the above October just seems too quickly... And if its true, why has there been no official word on it? The 20meg upgrade seemed to get a decent advance notice.

Like they bother to tell staff what they are going to do, they normally just do it and then let the staff work it out for them selves. Via a large amount of pointless truck roles!:dozey:

I understand that, however if I was an average Joe the offer would have sounded really good and I may have been persuaded to take the 4mb deal thinking that I would be upgraded to 10mb in October. Of course I know that its not going to happen, but average Joe probably doesn't and when he/she realises that their broadband hasn't been upgraded, they won't have any proof that they were told about the upgrade and therefore have no hope of getting a refund. All new upgrades tie you in to a 12 month contract and if you are told something that isn't true, I don't think its fair to have to live out that 12 months.

hope that makes sense :p:
