If its the Ex-TW then :-
servers:-
binary:- news.blueyonder.co.uk
Text:- news-text.blueyonder.co.uk
Username and password only required if posting and will be the same that you use for Email (BY) or selfcare.

its not ex telewest
i signed up 3 months agg
can i download bin's without the username and password
how does it know that im with virgin - or does it go by IP
I use newsbin pro and the server settings I use are news.ntlworld.com and don't need to enter any username/password.
Not sure if virgin is different.
Have a look here. http://www.virginmedia.com/customers/newsgroups/
Hope this helps.

Could you please turn the cable modem upside town and take a look at the MAC ADDRESS ... it looks like a bar code on a white sticker ... we first need to know as whether you are with NTL or TELEWEST

i beleive im with telewest
i was with the phone before virgin
im at work so i cant check this now
For your security, under no circumstances should MAC addresses be given to users who aren't confirmed Virgin Media staff.
wafer_style is NOT confirmed as VM staff.
