Hi folks,
I've got a query regarding UBR's. I understand that they don't necessarily represent geographical locations but for my IP it's pretty obvious:
*.cable.ubr09.newt.blueyonder.co.uk = Newton Abbot
I was wondering if anyone recognised the area for this one:
cpc1-walt4-0-0-*.popl.cable.ntl.com
Thanks,
pj

edited to add:
I've since discovered the walt4 equates to waltham forest borough, London.
Any ideas on the remainder 'cpc1' and '-0-0-'

This just identifies your particular connection and makes it unique.

My guesses are only Popular and Newton.

If memory serves me right it is Waltham Park (East London) and I THINK that this person would be on Waltham Park UBR4 (4) Cable 0 (0) Upstream 0 (0). CPC1 is a registered customer, and PC1 is 1st (or only) IP address. Left (NTL)some time ago so may be wrong :)

popl = Poplar, or however you spell it.
