I'm just wondering what the latest driver is for this modem. I've tried updating mine from various links on here, but it keeps saying the one I have is better, even though it's dated 2001.

What do you mean updating? Do you mean the USB drivers for Windows?

If so, TBH, you are better connecting via Ethernet.

When you go into device manager, then network adaptors and click properties on the modem, then click the driver tab it comes up 07/2001. Can you update this driver? like you can for all hardware?
I am connecting using ethernet.

That is most likely your onboard fax modem, you won't see the cablemodem in device manager if it is connected via ethernet.
