ok ... here we go ..
My friend is triying to watch the football highlights on virginmedia website (http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/premierleaguehighlights) but the videos do not play .
There is no error message as such , the page loads completely and that's it . The video does not play , the main screen where the video should load is black , yes " BLACK " as if it's instantiating even the little controls (play and the stop buttons) seem to be non responsive N DO NOT WORK . THE VIDEO IS USING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER PLUGIN

OS : Windows XP SP1
Media Player : Windows Media Player v 10
Firewall : NETGUARD SECURITY , we have tried disabling the firewall as well and that did not help either .

Are you using Firefox or IE?. I couldn't get it to run under Firefox and IE is asking me to upgrade a component of Media Player, when I agree to the upgrade it tells me it can't upgrade it. You've gotta love Windows!.

Try this site for the add on for Firefox. I downloaded VideoDownLoader and had no more trouble

Hope this helps.

I have Norton, IE, SeaMonkey and WMP 11.

I have to disable Norton, start IE, go to the page, and install anything it tells you to, then switch to full screen to get perfect streaming.

Watching it in the window is too jumpy for me.

Try that.

Put http instead of mms? Try that. That will either open WMP in your browser, or open it as a separate program.

I do have those controls also, they come with the new WMP codecs I think.

Apart from that, all I can advise is an upgrade to WMP 11 (I can help with that, NO MATTER WHAT your excuse! ;)) and see what happens, or disable your Antivirus, clear cache in IE, close IE, open it again, go to the site and try it then...
