VM footie highlights

When I try to view any of the football highlights from the weekend on the official VM site I just get a black screen where the actual video should be and a tiny red bar below it that doesn't move when I press play, etc.

Why can't I see any of the video? Never had problems with any other site before...HELP PLEASE.

Can anyone help with this as still the same site loads up fine but part where highlights meant to be black :(

What browser do you use? Do you have the addon's for IE/FFox... Try searching for a Codec Pack

Ace Mega Codec Pack in google.

downloaded the codec pack still black screen. All other video plays, why blocked from that. Just use internet explorer.

You will need adobe flash, wmp 9, at least, and you should be raring to go!

IE version 7. This is really weird. All video on any other site works. Even the video ads and the silly VM sport programme on the same site work, just none of the fooball matches. All I get is a black square with a red bit in the play bar that doesn't move :(

I get a message saying that a component of Media Player needs upgrading' - it then goes off to find the server & tells me the upgrade cannot be performed....

The upgrade downloaded for me but it then refused to play saying I didn't have the rights to do so. This stinks of DRM. I hate DRM :(

I clicked on the message box to obtain the rights from the 'content providor' and it now plays. Have WMP 11 if this is of any significance. If only I liked domestic football now ;)

i got the blank screen at first but again I clicked on the black screen and the video was then shown :)

Nothing happens with right click. Also nothing with left clicking. Just stays black! Press play, etc and nothing. No messages nothing.

I am having the exact same trouble and I contacted cust svcs - they didnt have a clue and were no help whatsoever. It seems that VM want your money but dont want to give anything in return. I have 2 bb connections and 2 landlines from VM and I'm paying approx £75 a month - for what exactly????

My speeds are appalling, and the cust svcs non existant.

NTL cust svcs seemed so much better than VM in comparison.

I'm running FireFox 2.0.0.6 with ad block plus and all the latest Flash plug-ins and the latest K lite Mega Codec pack and all works fine.

When I first went on I got a license pop up saying I dont have permission to play these files, 5 seconds later I get a you now have access message click play.

The games stream fine with no jerking and smooth commentary.

Are the streams available to all or just XL BBI (10mb/20mb) customers I'm on 20mb.

What versions of WMP are you using? I have 11 (after getting the Windows Genuine Advantage rubbish) and that seems to work with the DRM enabled content. I reckon its older versions of Media Player which don't play the stuff.
