Can you clarify, are you on VM already? If not, who's your ISP and what speed are you actually paying for?

Well 2MB is their lowest download speed. But they have improved their service by introducing other plans as well which are based on Download speeds.

ukonline just told me my line cant handle mroe then 8megs so i want to do the change back to virgin media... but what if i get less with virgin media? do you think if i ask them they could tell me a rough estimate of what my speed would be? fast then 8meg slower?

depends what service you take

what?
09-08-2007, 15:56
if you ask what speed you are expected to get they will tell you the speed you subscribded to, as thats what should happen n the cable service as you dont have to be within a certain range of the exchange or anything.
tbh, on the 20meg at the moment you are looking at 16 -20meg

thats true for most people who have a direct connection and check the speeds from
gamsfiles.virginmedia.com, or any other server with a fat pipe.

definatly the 20meg one.. if i wanted any slower id stick with ukonline because my line is stable with 8meg connection :) its just when i try use the 22meg it crashes non stop no matter how much they lower the line.. well only one way to find out.. will post speeds after they install it again :D thnx
