My brother and I eventually got our pensioner parents to switch from BT to VM at the end of May. They both like the telly but the one condition on switching - the port of the BT number- still has't taken place.
They are ex-ntl (Belfast-BT18 postcode) and even today when i rang i was told that the whole process would have to start again.
Timeline:
Install booked for 01/06 (TV - M, phone XL + international option)
no-one turned up... rang - told 1 man install wrongly slotted- should've been 2 man job & was rebooked for 08/06.

successful install on 08/06- advise 7-10 days for number port
(parents continue to use BT phone)

25/06 - i rang & was told it hadn't been booked. port now set up but may be delayed due to billing system changeover.(£25 credit to bill for delay)

28/06 -CS rang giving port date on/after 13/07

17/07 - i rang & was given direct number for port team (0161 -----)
18/07 - i rang port team- nice bloke said BT had rejected last 2 requests due to postcode error. he rebooked port advising 21-24/7 as likely port dates

26/07 - i rang 0161---- different bloke says no record of order & i must restart this via CS... i hung up after 20 mins as i was ringing from work.

12.30 26/07: this posting in vain hope of help.........

Thanks

i was at a fault call today for the same reason (but not quite as enduring as yours) i phoned No port..0161.. as you did who confirmed no No port oreder ever raised,i spoke to customer care who organised the port there and then and told me up to 10 days, she said in reality a week so expect it sooner rather than later.watch this space
