Now thats too high ideal level should be in the negs -4 if its in the + then the low freq signals will be high this can flood the tuner causing errors.
Hi all,
Could someone confirm if these are correct
Cable Modem Downstream Downstream Lock : Locked

Thanks slowcoach for pointing that out but I had read it before posting and couldn't get my head around it

ditto.. bit ambiguous
''Downstream Receive Power: Ideally +/- 3dBmV, cause for concern at around +/- 8dBmV, different modems handle the higher and lower levels differently however I'd expect to see service degredation at that point''
that could mean different modems can handle +-8 or +-18 or +-54?
mines an ntl:250 btw, due to the last comment about degredation at +-8 on some modems... im guessing my 7.5 is pretty bad?

My brand new 255 modem is showing the Downstream Receive Power Level around the -10.0 dBmV mark and the engineer was satisfied with it.
So far the level hasn't proved to be life threatening. :dozey:

as iggy said in the sticky, a spot 'bad' reading may not be the only reason for a poor connection, but the nearer to nominal you are, the better, one assumes ?
mine currently
Downstream Receive Power Level : 4.1 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 37.8 dB
Upstream transmit Power Level : 47.8 dBmV

One would think so.
