The VM site shows that my area has now been upgraded to the new 20mb speed.

Am I supposed to phone them and ask for the upgrade or should it be done automatically? I have phoned them this evening to be told that it should already be done, but speed tests still show average speed below 10mb (running about 9800) and upload speed about 450 (which I have to say, has gone down since VM took over NTL :(
Now on checking the info on the Cable Modem (blue 250model) it still shows as my MAX download speed as 10mb, and upload as 512. So again I ask, should they be sending an update to my modem to allow for the new speeds?
They did do this before, when upgrading from 4mb to 10.

Many thanks for any replies in advance,

Turn the modem off for a few seconds and power it back up.

That's what I did when I noticed that my area was listed as complete but my modem (a 250) config said 10Mb download speed. That sorted it.
