Cosham & 20Mb

According to the schedule, Cosham has got 20Mb now, but I've just got this;

Well the 727kbs upload shows that you are on the 20MB config. The 3445kbs download shows you're on Virgin Media. I'm not on 20MB yet, but looking at your results I don't want to be.

since my 20meg upgrade any speedtest has given crap results, i dont trust them and never will

894 KBytes/s is the highest I've got tonight with NTL's newserver for a few text NG - when it was 10Mb I was quite often getting 1.23MBytes/s.

I've never used any of the speedtest sites, it seems to me like a waste of resource to just download large files for no other purpose than to prove what speed you either are or not getting.

I am on the Cosham connection (Gosport area) and have had terrible experiences since my connection was upgraded to 20meg. It has been a lot slower than when I used to have the 2meg option a couple of years ago.
£37 a month for speeds like this, their having a laff !!!

Im in Havant and tried it yesterday, Downloaded something from usenet and got around 2000KB/s which is alright.
Today so far no problems ive seen. Im quite happy with the service

Hi, I am in Cosham too.

My download speed is working fine regularly getting over 18 MB, however, the thing that is very strange is that my upload speed is stuck at 430Kb/s when it should be 768 ish.

Phoned tech support and as usual they were not worth a penny let alone a few quid!

If I were you I would not bother with speedtest.net, it just does not have the bandwidth to cope with the huge number of people accessing it at the moment. You could try some of these:

Any one else getting poor upload? or it not having changed?

hey guys im in havant also d/l speed is fine, forget speed test as you do get rubbish results i find. So instead i use www.gamershell.com pick demo or anything to d/l and pick a good server in the green and start d/l 99% of time you get full speed, i get 2.04mb/sec (20meg) then just cancel download if you wish. give it a try :shocked:
