And here is a copy of a letter I just e mailed to Michelle, a very competent lady in retentions who arranged a cable repull for me this Wednesday after my umpteen TV (and billing) problem.
Hi Michelle
Well the TV is still behaving itself, mostly but now for the past few days my internet speeds after 4PM have been less than dial up. Here's an example;
http://www.speedtest.net/result/148637373.png
As you can see if you copy and paste that into your browser, my speed is 863kb/s. With my 4 meg service that should read about 3,900kb/s so it's about a quarter of what it should be. It drops to this after 4PM regularly now and no way am I going to call up your tech support at 25 pence a minute!!!! to talk to some Indian reading from a script. I'm told that if the problem is VM's fault then the call charge is credited back. We both know that with VM's track record with my bills. that's about as likely as Elvis playing on the Wimbledon Centre Court against Lord Lucan.
I don't think a repull is going to make much difference Michelle to be frank. I think maybe it's time we spoke about cancellation of my services. VM is a great idea, but it just doesn't work does it.
I await your phone call or Bill Sw*****d's when we can finally put this whole sorry saga to rest one way or the other. As usual it's 01904 ** ** ** or 07*** *** ***
Regards
Alan ******
There you go troops. It just couldn't be allowed to go on could it. VM staff are trying their best, but they are fighting a losing battle. I aren't the first to write an e mail like this and I won't be the last. It's such a pity though.
