Does anyone know the formula for working out download speed as i have doubts as to the speed that I am meant to be getting Virgin say that I should be getting up to 10mb but I can never seem to get past 5mb with any test and I would like to test it for my self.

http://www.speedbit.com/ download this and set the number of connection high. Use this manager to download a file from cnet or M$HQ or a similar site. The multiple connections will allow you to reach maximum possible download speed on your connection. If you failt to reach 10 meg(or close within reason of course) on a few sites with this method you may have a problem that needs investigating
