Here in Cardiff the speeds i am getting is sooooo slow I might as well be on dial up. Average all night is 333kbs of a 10mb connection. This is a common event and I have had enough of this. If I am paying for upto a 10mb connection the least I should expect is at least 5mb (50%) on average. My upload speed is more than my down. Could call tech support but what's the point anymore. Had 2 engineers down so far with all the same answers, power levels a bit low, slight tweak and fine for a day or so then back to slow speeds.

I have now had enough of this awfull service so am going to leave RIP OFF Virgin next month after I come back from hols. Is sky better (as I want tv channels as well) or are there others who provide tv as well as broadband.

had the same problems here but finally got rid of virgin myself last week, never had 1 problem before they became virgin but since then the tv was working 50% of the time and was getting half meg if i was lucky on my 10meg connection, downgraded to 4 meg and couldnt even open web pages or open messenger.
best to go elsewhere, virgin will get their act sorted out 1 day but until then..............

1st 512K took 3250 ms = 157.5 KB/sec, approx 1298 Kbps, 1.27 Mbps
2nd 512K took 4672 ms = 109.6 KB/sec, approx 903 Kbps, 0.88 Mbps
3rd 512K took 5032 ms = 101.7 KB/sec, approx 838 Kbps, 0.82 Mbps
4th 512K took 4296 ms = 119.2 KB/sec, approx 982 Kbps, 0.96 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 1005 Kbps, 0.98 Mbps

Good news is I received an email today saying Sky have no unbundled their equipment in my exchange, so we might possibly go ADSL2 if the 20Mb upgrade doesn't sort things out (would be satisfied with 4Mb, if any less than that we're leaving).
