OK, so I've been working nights for most of the week, setting any p2p downloads to kick in as i head off to work, and watch whatever i get when i get back in the morning.

But, my machine has been off all day, literally turned it on about 20 mins ago, and thought i'd check my speed.

Constantly coming in around 2.5mb download, so i checked my config page on my modem, and I appear to have been bumped from 20mb to 10mb!

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000 Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 64000 Maximum Upstream Channel Burst : 1600
v strange - worth giving Bangalore a call?

Ah just saw this in the log file on the modem:

Just spoke to a very nice bloke called David in Swansea, appears that my cable modem was removed form my account yesterday (21/06) - no notes on the account as to why this was done, and he was astonished I was getting any connection at all.
Sorted now, one of those things I guess

The reason you are still getting any service is because the File that the Modem is trying to download a Firmware File that is incompatible with the Modem and therefor failing

I wonder why that is?
Do the VM bods not have a check on the firmware updates so that it doesn't try and install on the wrong model, or am I being too sensible?

It is an odd one to be honest, the removal from your account alone would get me scratching my head too.

Yeah and apparently there were no notes on the account?
Ah well, it's working now.
