hey fellas ...

i got upgraded to 20mb a month ago as part of the upgrade ... was getting pretty damn good speeds on tests (17mb average) and was hitting giganews servers at like 18.2 and pulling files down 2mb/sec average ... wow, great service so far ...

then now for 2 weeks solid i've been struggling to get over 7mb browsing speeds on tests, and any newsgroups struggle to get past 10mb ... and this is THROUGHOUT the day, no matter what times

nothing has changed at my end, everything is the same, theres no area faults, i've rang CS a few times who say they will look into it but nothing has come back to me

I plan on ringing CS on Friday to downgrade to 4mb as theres no point pay 37 quid a month for 8mb when i can get that on ADSL for 15 a month or just get the 4mb and see if that gets upgraded or something

anyone have any suggestions or anything?

thanks in advance!

Does the service status link help?

The choice is yours really but it's what I did.
I dropped from 10meg to 2meg for a number of reasons.
1. not prepared to pay £37 for traffic shaped 10/20meg
2. I don't download as much as I used to so 2meg is adequate
3. Connection issues, although to be fair my connection is now sound

I'm aware that all tiers are being shaped (though I'm not as yet) so
I'm seriously looking at all the alternatives right now,do I stay with
shaped cable or shaped adsl?
The upside was that they gave me 4meg for the price of 2meg.
I even phoned CS to point out that they had made an error with the
downgrade to be told it was no mistake, nice. :)
