What Modem??

Ok Im Switching To Vm And i wanna know wat cable modem i will get ive got told it will be a Motorola SB5100i (Whitch i Want) But if it dont if i buy one of them would it work? Thankes

Nope, got to use their supplied kit. Dont think the modems VM use run standard firmware (citation needed) so only their stuff will work on their network. The MAC address of any modem you purchase yourself certainly won't be recognised so it won't work anyway.

Why on Earth would it matter what Modem you get supplied?! Whatever it is, it'll be up to the job

The Reason I Want That Modem is becuase its got a standby modem and thats wat i want

I think he's saying he wants a modem with a standby button. I'm not sure if the new ones that VM supply have them.

Either ways you'll have to make do with what you get, as they won't swap them on the basis of you wanting a specific model, and you cannot buy cablemodems from third parties and use them on the VM network.
