Hmm, Middlesbrough UBR I thought, im on that, did speed test, still on 10Mbps. Rebooted modem and WAHAY!!! 20Mbps. Start rebooting those funky modems!! ;)

1st 512K took 189 ms = 2709 KB/sec, approx 22322 Kbps, 21.8 Mbps
2nd 512K took 219 ms = 2337.9 KB/sec, approx 19264 Kbps, 18.81 Mbps
3rd 512K took 188 ms = 2723.4 KB/sec, approx 22441 Kbps, 21.92 Mbps
4th 512K took 204 ms = 2509.8 KB/sec, approx 20681 Kbps, 20.2 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 21177 Kbps, 20.68 Mbps


These results appear to be rather fast - this page was probably in the browser cache.

Same here in Hemel 20meg downloads, nice steady speed with a VM255, it will go down to 5meg at 4pm tho but its a gd start and thank you VM.. for a change . lol

It's really not necessary to start a new thread every time an area gets upgraded. We'll end up with this forum full of "we got it" threads and the less people who know about the 20meg upgrade on Teesside the better ;).

With the last upgrades (4Mb to 10Mb) my modem rebooted itself automatically. I went to college, came back and it was faster.

Where in Sunderland are you? I'm in Redhouse & average about 1.5-1.6MB/sec...

I ain't complaining though :D

Washington here - getting a conistent +2MB/s download.

I'll tell ya something else aswell - my browsing speeds have dramatically improved since I set a web proxy cache in my browser.

Give it a try ... the ones for Wearside are
