Anybody else had mails appear in their inbox from themselves? It appears someone has managed to send a couple of test mails using my f*z**lo*ic@by alias which I've not touched. Changed the password so fingers crossed. Strange though coz I dont use the password for anything else.

Changing the password won't help.

It's possible to send an email to anybody from anybody else - that's the main reason that spammers are almost impossible to catch.

if you have put your ntl email online anywhere (a forum, a newsgroup, an online list) then spambots will probably grab it and use it as a fake address. They send millions of emails out all supposedly coming from you. Unfortunately those emails that bounce back come back not to the spammer, but to you.

Just keep deleting them and eventually they will die out as the spambot moves onto another email address to use.
