Flashing 'ready' LED no access

I've had this problem before with my cable modem. 'Ready' LED flashes when cable modem is booted and I have no access.

I'm pretty sure the modem is an NTL:Home 100/200 but as I'm not at home I can't check, sorry.

Last time it turned out to be an issue with a local junction box that was fixed after a week, what is the usual prognosis of this flashing 'ready' LED problem, can it be a duff modem, anyone?

It could either be a problem with the modem or your connection. Do you have virgin TV and if so is there a flashing LED on your set top box and if there is it is your connection, if there isn't and the light is solid on your set top box it is your modem. if you don't have virgin tv check the service status in your area on 0800 561 0061. If it isn't an area problem then ring faults on 151 from a VM line or 0845 454 1111 from a non VM line.
