I think I can download between 10 - 50gb a month which aint too bad I think what all of you how much have u downloaded before?

I can average around 60-100GB a month on, er, Linux ISOs. :angel:
Most I've done is about 150GB in one month I think.

As i said i dont do anywhere near that now due to having already download the mk1 and mk2 versions of the internet. :angel:

haha a very good idea, syncronise the whole internet to a huge massive mega-mega server so if the net goes down sometime, u still have it on the server, now, how meny millions of TB's would I need I wander *sits & thinks*

somewhere between 60gb & 200gb per month (according to DU meter)
I stream a lot of radio\tv and a fair bit of online gaming, the odd linux distro as well.

most months 200gb - and some months 30gb all deppends whats happening in eve-online :)

I've been a bit more of a leech, recently, having discovered the convenience of newsgroups over torrents, mainly for TV programs & have, at times, downloaded up to 9GB a night.
I doubt that will continue, though - 15 minutes to download a divX of a TV episode that takes 45 minutes to watch means quite a backlog of unwatched content has built up already, and there is no point getting stuff just for the sake of it :)

The most I ever downloaded was either the first day I got my xbox 360 I downloaded alot of demos, some over 1GB and videos, so probably 15gig that day, recently I downloaded all of Star Trek Enterprise from newsgroups to watch through the divx's, that was 4 series over about a month. I guess I have done about 30-40gb a month average. My total downloads from newsgroups just recently went over 500gb, and thats over about 18 months, so not that bad I guess.

10-15GB. Where I work, we grab a lot of the big game demos and vidoes, mind you, and I burn them onto a DVD-RW and bring em home.

Think my most is around 50gb in one month. Done about 20gb this month, just on Linux iso's. Damn opensuse!
done about 450gig once, also got a warning letter for 125gig when they had the 75gig caps got another letter saying thankyou for reducing the amount i download the following month when it was 120gig, lol erm yeah OK!, probably on average now 50 - 100gig, maybe less, depends whats out and what i fancy but not like the old days the novelty has worn off, lol

I think the most ive done is around 400gigs in a month.
Having 4TB of hard drive space in 2 pcs is an advantage when storing (Linux Iso's) ;)

Dunno i think about 100gb thats when i thought it was cool and ADSL was a new thing.

who me never ;) some days thats a morning there is limited content 600 gig is about my max through giganews thats not including my easynews account at the time or anything else. Ive settled down a lot now.
Might well go up again though cuz since ive got my projector x264 format content is very appealing indeed (got all Torchwood in 720p and it looks spot on)
ok i just checked my giganews stats and it says the most i ever downloaded over a month was 443gb ! over 31 days last year!
alot of linux isos,hd clips, and the like
sounds about the same time i got my new HD TV.
now my stats are pretty low - 50gb a month or so

Most i've downloaded in a month is about 650gb (March 2006).
These days i get through about 200-300gb a month.
Hmmmm First 31 days i found Giganews. 1.73 TB Oh My.. of course i prolly deleted around 1.5Tb not knowing how pars worked etc, like a kid in a candy store..
around 200GB now a month
Record high download for a month was 76.46 GB down (Oct '06)
Record low download for a month was 2.16 GB (Jan '07)
Everything before that was all around the 30 GB mark due to the 1 GB/day cap that was in place.
Most in a day was 10.51 GB tho, was a good day for newsgroups that.
At uni, on 4mbit I done >1tb IIRC. Most months it's between 100gb-300gb.

I've downloaded a 1.6GB demo in less than 1 hour
most i ever downloaded in a day would be about 3 gig as ive only ever had a 1 meg and 2 meg connection :(
in a month id say probably 60 gig max.
most in a month was about 460Gig
137GB was my record month on 2Mb ADSL.

97 gig in day to me sounds like a record to me, is that on the 20mb or the 10mb, I can't see it being possible on 10mb, 96 gig in 24 hours or so maxed out of 10mb (approx using basic estimations), that's 20-22 dvds in 24 hours or so.
I can not for the life of me find anything that's of interest that I need in that one day.
Still if true that's the most I've heard anyone download in 1 day. :tu:

my DU Meter reports the max i done in a day, i am still on the 10mb service, dont when my line is getting upgraded.

I get discount from Aria on Hard Drives because i buy that many :LOL:.
These are what i buy now. Just received 4 of them for my Media Centre PC

As for downloadinfg I think I do about 100 150gb a monthm, although I suspect this will increase drastically.

I don't trust IBM / Hitachi drives at all and the Seagates offer a 5 year warranty as opposed to the 3 of the deathstars
You can pick up the equivalent Seagate for ~£68 inc vat, or at least that was the last I paid for a few of them from overclockers

No wonder there's a lot of complaining on here about traffic shaping. All top 5% users are here :).
My highest in a day would have been around 5G before I found out about networks installs and Gentoo linux. Now it's harder. A 50Mb CDROM iso but then it grabs the rest as it needs it.

I *was* completely against traffic shaping, but having read this thread all I can hope is that *none* of you lot live anywhere near me and that you get shaped down to 128k or less.
You want that sort of capacity, get your wallet out and purchase your own dedicated 10meg stream then the rest of us might actually get a semi-decent service.
Before you bleat on about paying for it so you'll use it consider this. You pay to use the roads do you expect to drive on the motorway at 70 flat out, ALL the time? Welcome to the real world. You don't get a motorway all to yourself now do you.
Hopefully VM will get their act together and pass on the names & addresses of the P2P users to the MPAA & RIAA, don't even think about claiming that you d/l 300+ gigs of Linux distros.
They don't release3 x 3gig ISO's a day, so you're kidding no-one, and if you are incapable of burning an ISO to dvd then you shouldn't really be allowed to use a computer.
