Are you talking about packet loss ?

Indeed, i just looked at my connection and it says,

packets sending = 0 packets recieving = 11,560

My download speed is really slow too for 10 meg

speeds are unpredictable 70 kb is the highest download rate i have at the moment and very unpredictable ranging from 3kb to 70kb

What modem do you have ? what are the upstram and down stream levels .Stupid question time have you got the right power supply for the modem a ambit modem will use a OEM power supply are you using a router:)

Try a constant ping ie ping -t bbc.co.uk run it for a while then stop :)

Type in 192.168.100.1 password root and root this will let you in to the diag of the modem there you will see the upstream and downstream level as the box seee it ie down stream -2 upstream 56dbmv ;) how did you get on with the constant ping test :)
