Iam on the ubr05 which im promised network engineers are supposed to fixing issue with noise on the line.

How do I tell which areas/share this UBR?

Can VM swop you on to a different UBR?

I have looked on the maintenance status page and could only see happening next week on ubr06 and 10 how can I tell if the has maintenance sheduled?

As far as I know the only way to know what areas are on a UBR would be to ask a VM employee. As to swapping it can be done but you may find that you get more trouble on the new one than the old.

If we try to change UBR either u will get no service (sync/rdy - flashing), or the IP address on the PC will be a pre reg IP, it means u will be able to open only registration website http://80.5.178.26/ and may result to intermittent or slow connection, usually when there is outage it is on DHCP or HFC, so changing UBR will not make a difference.

To change UBR, the physical fibres need to be moved. This happens when there is a resegmantation, this doesn't happen often, unless new kit is added, or there are too many connection on one UBR.
Noise on the UBR will be fixed through extensive noise busting which is a continuous thing but takes time.
The only way to tell which areas are connected to which UBR is to use ntl/virgin tools/database to query whats connected.

Doesn't it show what's connected to your UBR?

You can not change what ubr you are on as monkey 218 has said .It is not possible as your node area is connected to a laser which in turn is connected to a ubr ie ubr 4 card 6 .The only way is after a reseg for the whole headend.:)
