Hello im using ntl cable internet 10mb in Brighton ( It should be upgraded to 20mb soon) The problem is that i have been running speed tests for a long time using several servers , and have never got a result over 6mb. Normally i get around 1-3mb. Is anything wrong going on?2007 most impressive screensavers

sounds like you may need a tech visit to check your signal levels into the modem.also the tech (depending where you live) should be able to connect his own laptop and do a comparative speed test to your p.c. have you tried www.giganews.com.click on speed/trace route link on top of page and try the speed test there,good luck :)

A useful way of testing your speed

Goto the debian website and start downloading two or three distribution iso's

http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/i386/iso-dvd/

Start -> Run
type in ' perfmon.msc '

Have a look at the speed of your network adapter, I can max out my connection doing that.

All the speedtest sites give me on average around 4mbps but if I use the above method I can usually get 10mbps

What modem do you have as some of the older ones do not handle 10 meg.
