Broadband Size: M - 2mb
During peak times, the top 5% on the Size: M package download (http://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view&id=40005#) at least 350MB of traffic each.

Any users hitting this amount during peak times (4pm till midnight) will have their broadband speed (http://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view&id=40005#) temporarily traffic managed – their download speed will be set to 1Mb, with their upload speed set to 128Kb. This will last for 4 hours from when the traffic management policy is applied.

Broadband Size: L (4mb)
During peak times, the top 5% on the Size: L package download at least 750MB of traffic each.

Any users hitting this amount during peak times (4pm till midnight) will have their broadband speed temporarily traffic managed – their download speed will be set to 2Mb, with their upload speed set to 192Kb. This will last for 4 hours from when the traffic management policy is applied.

Broadband Size: XL (20mb - old 10mb)
During peak times, the top 5% on the Size: XL package download at least 3GB of traffic each.

Any users hitting this amount during peak times (4pm till midnight) will have their broadband speed temporarily traffic managed – their download speed will be set to 5Mb, with their upload speed set to 256Kb. This will last for 4 hours from when the traffic management policy is applied.

VIRGIN MEDIA REALLY CANNOT ADVERTISE THIS AS UNLIMITED if u get throttled after only 350mb...[2mb ppl] OMG!!!!!
That is ridiculous! ITV and BBC going to be showing online tv, and the only time u think about watching it, it will eat ur "QUOTA" of 350mb, and then u get traffic shaped:(.

What is the point reducing the upload speed? Its crap as it is:mad:

Also, for the people on 20mb, whats the point if u get shaped to 5mb??? U might aswell save £12 a month and get 4mb! No point paying £12 a month extra for using 20mb for only a few hours a day?

This will last for 4 hours from when the traffic management policy is applied.

So even tho the peak time is 4pm to midnight, if u get shaped from 10pm, it will last till 2AM, when its off peak for the latter 2 hours??? Virgin Media messed this up real bad! They are not doing themselves any favours recently...

omg they're traffic shaping!!

This is prolly how the thread goes.

- GOOD stops all those illegal downloads ruining my 20mbit service for web-browsing and the odd Linux ISO.

- 20 mins use isn't excessive.

- Downloading 3gb at prime time is!!!1

- The real ones that suffer are on the lower tears.

- Downloading movies isn't illegal

- Yes it is, it's so obvious. It's like stealing a CAR

- Richard Branson is the devil.

Repeat for 100 pages.
