Taken from the website:

Virgin Media Broadband customers:

News (NNTP) Server: news.cable.ntlworld.com
News server: port number: 119

Hope that helps

Thats just for ex-NTL customer's though is it not?

ex-TW customer's wont be able to connect with those Server details.

Basic thing about newsgroups. You get what you pay for. ISP ones are free, they're cack most of the time. Giganews is something else. Amongst others like.

That I don't know. Thats just the server thats listed on the VM website. Nothing to say whether it's for ntl customers only or Telewest customers too.

Guess it goes with the rest of the website and everything being guesswork.

EDIT: Just found this

What about the blueyonder and ntl groups?

There are also private groups on the news servers of the old ntlworld and blueyonder ISPs. Over a period of time we will be retiring these groups as we move to the new family of Virgin Media groups.

Maybe jamgood, you were correct with your post

Oooo... well it doesn't look good to be honest. Its most likely there gonna remove all the copyrighted ones. However you never know.. maybe they will actually upgrade them :erm:

I can't find anything on that page even hinting that any alt.binaries may be removed.
