Hey I’m currently on Virgin Media 4MB Broadband, these last few days I’ve been uploading a lot of data to a new website I’m designing, I’ve noticed that in the moring/afternoon I get my full upload speed of 46kb but in an evening its halved to a max of 22kb if I’m lucky.

I have disconnected the modem from the router and connected it directly to my pc just in case another pc on the network was uploading and I still can’t upload at more than 22kb a second. But yet as I type this now I can upload at 46kb a second.

Can anyone shed any light on this?
If it helps I live in Huddersfield, is our area having problems?

Their was a damn thread somewhere, where VM was capping bandwith at certain hours of heavy downloaders.

Seems to have vanished out of my sight though :(

They cap upload? wtf...that would only be necessary if it was impeding everyone elses connection speed, but an upload of 46KByte/s isn't really going to affect the network, it is?

Xbox Live play is almost impossible atm especially when hosting.

I seam to get an upload speed of about 11kb and can download anywhere between 30kb and 100kb on my 4mb connection

Is this the topic you mean? i guess its not just me with the problems!
