Hey, carrying on from my previous thread about the fact I was on 2Mb instead of 10Mb I gave customer services a phone last night and changed the package over, The bloke on the phone said it would be update straight away this hasn’t happened and its being nearly 12Hrs, I'm know as very inpatient ;)

How long does the change from 2Mb to 10Mb Take???

Thanks.

Have you reset the modem? If you have and you're still on 2Mb I would ring them again. :)

Really? I thought it was just as soon as they send the signal...

When i upgraded, they told me it will take effect from midnight on that day, didn't happen, happened on midnight at 00.02 on the next day :D

It is when they send the signal, but they sent it at midnight.

When we last upgraded, it was done before we had even put the phone down :)

Yes, I was sat at the computer whilst talking to the lady on the other end, she asked me to unplug the power cable from the modem and plug it back in, so I did and bingo! Had gone from 2meg to 4meg as quick as that.

Same here, on the phone, agreed to upgrade and within 2 seconds my modem rebooted and i was on 10Mb (from 4).

It's whenever they send the signal. I'd ring them up and demand to speak to a supervisor... Ask them to send a hit to upgrade you.

When mine upgraded they had changed it on one system and kept telling me I was right and it wasn't down to them, but I kept at them and turned out they hadn't communicated the change to the department that needed to send the hit. Once they figured that out they fixed it there and then.

its easier to just upgrade online. Change it all yourself and you have your new speed 2 minutes later ;)

Only a thought but reasons regarding up grade times could be down to systems used by franchise you in. On icoms you can see if "hit sent" so up grade was very quick. Other systems not so flexible.
May not be the reason.. just a thought.

Ah, never thought of that :p:

Must be posible in my area as i've rung up and complained before and they've sent a hit to put it back on within 15mins (broadband, phone and TV)

Just gave them another call as I still haven’t received the upgrade :(

The 7 people I spoke to over the space of 5Days never issued the upgrade according to the women on the phone, Looks like I got through to a London call centre if there is one?? She issued the upgrade there an then and said it would be upgraded straight away, which hasn’t happened yet (25Mins after the call) ARRR!!! And I thought AOL was bad
