:welcome: to the forum.

The V+HD box does not support broadband at all so you would have to get a SACM fitted.

A Stand Alone Cable Modem. You could either get one installed or pay extra to keep your STB as well.

A SACM is recommended as it is more reliable and the speeds are greater anyway.

When I ordered the V+ CS arranged for an engineer to come the day before the V+ install and he set up a separate modem which he located next to the old STB. I understand that the modem they now install should deal with the proposed increase to 20mb.

The lowest BB is size M (2mb) which went up 1p to £18.00

If you are "technically capable" they will send a SACM through the post (they did for me).
They will then mess up your bill:D

No the STB is not capable of anything over 2MB.

They will not need to drill more holes. The SACM can be left next to the STB (if you like) or installed elsewhere (if you prefer). The cable will be split at the STB and the SACM connected to that.
